Electric Muscle Stimulation (E-Stim)

Is a treatment for Muscle tightness and spasm which commonly follows injuries and often accompanies degenerative process. Muscle tightness/spasm can lead to compression and irritation of the nerves exiting the spine. When the nerves are irritated, they cause a protective spasm of all the muscles to which they are connected. This contributes to a decrease mobility and pain in the area. Dry needling uses small, thin needles that are inserted into the muscles at the trigger points creating a local twitch response. Dry needling releases the triggerpoints allowing the muscles to relax, improving flexibility and decreasing the pain symptoms.

Brittany Lorimer Laxton Yoga and Reiki Practitioner
Brittany's path to yoga began in 2011, seeking to try something different for her physical health. Brittany tried her first Vinyasa style class and was instantly hooked. She loved the physical challenge that yoga gave her, but she also fell in love with the mental benefits of yoga. This is what kept her coming back to her mat. She felt the stress just melt away and just felt "at home" mentally and physically after class. Trying many different ways to increase her physical health throughout her life, she always came back to Yoga, her "home".
It was her desire to deepen her practice and understanding of yoga which led her to enroll in a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training program at Asura in October of 2017. She completed her training in March of 2018. She is currently enrolled in the 300-hour advanced training at Yoga Garden - Apex. Since becoming a certified yoga instructor, Brittany has been sharing her love of yoga to adults and children in the surrounding area. Brittany loves to integrate meditation and breathing into her classes to really ground her students and give them tools to use off their mat as well.
Brittany believes that yoga is for EVERYONE and likes to give options and modifications so that each person can find their own edge. Brittany is lighthearted and loves to have some fun in her classes. She enjoys getting to know her students and learning more about their wants and needs in their practice.
In her free time, you can find Brittany spending time with her friends and family. Brittany's husband and 2 boys love to watch movies together and play Uno. They also love the beach and enjoy spending their time there relaxing and being outside.
