Neurofeedback in Holly Springs
Neurofeedback brain training in Holly Springs works as a “detection and monitoring” system.
The system gives your brain information about itself. During a training session, the NeurOptimal neurofeedback training system monitors your brain for sudden changes in electrical activity. When an irregularity is detected, the system will inform your brain with a brief pause. This interruption invites your brain to return its attention to the present moment. This allows your brain to naturally self-correct. “ YES” your training your own brain...

WHAT OUR PATIENTS ARE SAYING
Our Neurofeedback journey began when I walked into Elite Spine and Wellness with ear pain. I was there to see Dr. David LaRocco when I noticed their flyers for concussion screenings. My daughter Sienna suffered from a concussion when she was three years old. After a traumatic school year, we started to witness some atypical behavior that was progressively becoming worse. Some of the behaviors that we were seeing consisted of:
- She didn’t want to go on play dates anymore with friends that she knew and trusted.
- She hated the way all her clothes felt on her body.
- She was very easily overstimulated by loud noises.
- Extremely anxious before new experiences. Her teeth were shattering at her first appointment here at Pure Brain!
- She could not overcome the fear of changing out her earrings of her pierced ears.
- We read Charlottes Web together before treatment. She did not want to watch the movie because she was too scared about Charlotte’s death.
- Nothing she ever did was good enough.
- She had an extremely hard time making decisions.
- She wanted me by her side more than usually.
- She had a lot of negative self talk.
Our all time low was this:
To see this as a parent to a seven year old is heartbreaking to say the least.
We came into this with zero expectations. We questioned if it was really worth paying out of pocket to try something that may or may not work. I’m sure a lot of you may have those same thoughts.
Never in a million years did I think this treatment would change her the way it has. All the behaviors that I listed above are resolved.
- She changes her earrings out by herself now.
- She joined a basketball team.
- She can recover more quickly from her upsets.
- We took her to the circus and she never complained about the noise.
- She’s back to hanging out with her friends.
- She’s wearing clothes in her closet I never knew we even owned.
- Negative self talk is almost non-existent.
Obviously, we still have upsets. However, there is a huge difference when it is a developmentally appropriate upset for her age! We can work through them a lot easier now.
Sienna came in for Neurofeedback treatment, and is leaving with a lifelong friend. A real life hero. To see the relationship my daughter has with Mr. Matthew is extremely heartwarming.
She has a strong connection with him because she knows he has changed her life.
As Sienna would say… “He made me feel safer inside."
"Over the past 40 years, I have sustained multiple head traumas including whiplash and most recently, a concussion in 2005. After the last concussion, I developed a heightened sensitivity to noise. I was irritated by white noise machines, the bathroom ceiling fan, lawn mowers, power washers for outside the house, carpet cleaning machines & generators, to name a few.
Ten years ago, I was aware that I had tinnitus. It started out at a low volume and has gotten louder over time and it sounded like a swarm of crickets. I found I was fatigued from the constant over stimulation of my brain. The noise had gotten so loud, it distorted my hearing acuity with higher frequency voices which are very common in women and children.
I was told by my audiologist and ENT that there was no cure because it was nerve damage in the inner ear. The only thing I could do was wear hearing aids to improve the acuity of my voice reception.
I read an alternative medicine article that stated the source of tinnitus was nerve damage in the brain. Hmmm...I immediately contacted Matthew from Pure Brain,NC, who is working out of Elite Spine and Wellness where I see my chiropractor. He said that Neurofeedback Therapy absolutely can help tinnitus.
After 2 sessions of Neurofeedback Therapy, I noticed a difference in the pitch and the volume of the tinnitus! I was encouraged!! After 20+ sessions, I am noticing big changes in the tinnitus volume and the positive effects it is having on my life as a whole. I no longer have a swarm of crickets in my head! I have had to turn my hearing aids down and can even go without wearing them. Loud noises no longer bother me. I don't have to leave home when the carpet cleaners or the power washer guy comes. Now, I can get through a power outage without wearing my earplugs to muffle the generator noise. I am finding with less over stimulation of my brain, I am having much more energy.
Neurofeedback Therapy has given back what was taken from me by the head traumas and resulting nerve damage--QUALITY OF LIFE!
THANK YOU Matthew for bringing this life changing and much needed therapy to Holly Springs."
